Mountain castle seen in a sea of clouds

天空の城 備中松山城 ~ Mountain castle seen in a sea of clouds ~ A sea of clouds covered a mountain castle in western Japan early Wednesday, allowing it to live up to its reputation of being "a castle on the clouds".

NHK cameras captured the scenic view of Bicchu Matsuyama Castle, built on a 430-meter peak in Takahashi City, Okayama Prefecture. It is built at the highest altitude of the 12 castles in the country that retain their original tower.The local tourist association says a sea of clouds tends to be observed  in the morning in fine weather, when temperatures drop overnight but shoot back up in the morning. It also says the spectacular view can be enjoyed till around early December.
