Kyoto's Kinkakuji covered with snow

Japan's ancient capital of Kyoto and its UNESCO World Heritage site temple, Kinkaku-ji, are covered in a blanket of snow.The Kyoto meteorological observatory says snow began falling early on Wednesday and had reached 4 centimeters of accumulation by mid-morning.

Tourists were seen taking photographs of the Kinkaku-ji, known as the Temple of the Golden Pavilion, which overlooks a pond.
