A group of Japanese dancers has performed one of the countries' traditional dances, known as 'Awa Odori', in Paris. The event took place at the Place des Vosges square on Friday. A French journalist based in Japan, Regis Arnaud, organized the "Awa Odori in Paris" event to promote the sense of unity and sophisticated beauty of the dance.
A crowd of people applauded when about 30 dancers from Japan's Tokushima Prefecture performed to the rhythm of drums and stringed instruments, wearing traditional costumes. Spectators joined in dancing after the Japanese dancers showed them the moves.
